city feeders

i found these three sitting outside the little City Feed in JP.  they told me that they all cut each other's hair.

                                                                                            cea.
there's no reason to discuss the origins of this kind of haircut.  all i can say is i'm glad she's got it and not some celebrity's 3-year-old (i'm looking at you, kingston rossdale).  do not like parentally imposed mohawk.

vicky.  whenever i see vicky, she's got a hat on.  i think she must like hats and thus had her hair cut to go well with her excellent hat collection.  this is one reason why it is good to have your friends cut your hair.  they understand that kind of shit.

amazing.  even without a hat on, a hat is kind of suggested.

jake.  another member of the YBMA.  i appreciate that the hair upon his chin balances the length in the back.  and how about that eyebrow shape?  pan anyone?

always let your friends cut your hair.

happy birthday

today I am 32.

katy.  lots of beautiful hair.  LOTS.  and feather earrings.  which we should all own.

antoinette.  volume on a slightly lesser scale than marie antoinette.  but i think she'd approved.

nelson.  representing the young bearded men of america (YBMA).  your ranks are growing as fast as your facial hair!

wear to begin

my first few images are all of people I know.  haven't done my first stranger-on-the-street photo.  screwing my courage to the sticking place, as they say.  how does the Sartorialist do it?

amy.  amy of the asymmetrical hair.  i cut it, but it was her brainchild.  it's great when someone has an idea for their hair and it ends up suiting them so well.  bravo.

janet being a muse.  which is always.  we were copying a style we saw in a magazine.

another look on janet.  faux bangs to help her resist the urge to cut real bangs.

john.  file this one under "looks that should not work but do."  john might be the king of pulling-it-off.  if john were a commercial, his fine print would read "do not attempt."

action shot!

meghan.  (i hope i spelled it right.  there are so many ways to spell meghan.)
color!  color perfection.  i know.  that sounds like a judgement, but it's not.  empirically, this is perfect.
